All those aboard a Marine Corps aircraft that crashed at sea Monday at 2 p.m. GMT (10 a.m. EDT), have been safely recovered by a Navy ship, the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command reported.

Three people are believed to have sustained nonlife-threatening injuries in the mishap, which was not caused by hostile activity. The Marine Corps and Navy will investigate the reason for it.

The aircraft was a helicopter with 17 marines and 8 sailors aboard that crashed in the Gulf of Aden while attempting to land on the USS Mesa Verde, NBC News reported via Breaking News. The Mesa Verde is a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock.
