Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie slipped into what is supposedly her favorite color - black - at the screening of her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, in New York on Dec, 5.

The actress, who was accompanied by her partner and fellow Hollywood star, Brad Pitt, donned a chic black blouse which she wore over a floor-length gown. Angelina teamed her dress with a pair of black platform shoes and accessorized herself with metallic gold necklace and earrings.

Jolie, known for her simple and sober fashion statements, has worn black on several other occasions and the event of the screening of her first film as a director was no exception.

The actress, who is also the screenwriter of the film, has been sued by a Croatian journalist, who claims the actress allegedly based the film's plot on ideas from his book, A Soul Shattering.

However, Jolie denied having read or seen the particular book, although she did admit to having drawn inspiration from a number of other books.

In the Land of Blood and Honey is a love story set against the backdrop of Bosnian War and is expected to bring out the pathos of love and war in a historical context. The film releases on Dec. 23.
