A leaked list of achievements for Square Enix’s upcoming game, “Marvel’s Avengers,” offers a tease as to the game’s villains, story and future content.

The list appeared Friday on Exophase and is reportedly the full list of achievements available to earn on Xbox One when the game is released on Sept. 4. While most of the achievements are related to gameplay, one reveals the alleged villains for the game will be the villainous faction A.I.M., its murderous creation MODOK, and the alien Kree.

A.I.M., or Advanced Idea Mechanics, is one of Marvel’s longest running comic book villain groups. It uses black market arms dealing to fund its research into advanced weaponry and robotics to take control of the world. Some of its more famous members have included the Red Skull and Taskmaster.

The group has been featured in several Marvel properties outside the comics, most notably in “Iron Man 3” under the leadership of Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian.

A.I.M. is the group responsible for the creation of MODOK, or Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. The longest running leader of the group, MODOK was a scientist for A.I.M. who mutated and was driven crazy by the Cosmic Cube. His giant head and small body make him one of the most visually distinct villains in Marvel and he consistently battles the Avengers.

While MODOK hasn’t found his way to film, he has been a prominent fixture in games and TV shows based on Marvel comics.

The Kree have become more famous over the last few years thanks to their prominent role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A militaristic race of aliens, the Kree have found themselves involved in several galactic conflicts throughout the history of Marvel comics. The most famous conflict has been the Kree-Skrull War, which has been one of the longest running wars in the comics.

One of the most famous members of the Kree is Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, who was played by Annette Benning in the 2019 film “Captain Marvel.”

Another is Ronan the Accuser, who first appeared as a villain in the comics before becoming more of an antihero as time went on. He also found his way to the big screen as the villain in 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and returned in 2019’s loose “Captain Marvel” prequel.

The Kree-Skrull War served as the catalyst for the Kree to create the Inhumans, a subgroup of humanity imbued with powers because of Kree experimentation. Kamala Khan, the current Ms. Marvel, is a descendant of the original Inhumans and is set to play a major role in the upcoming “Marvel’s Avengers” game.
