An amber alert was issued Tuesday morning for a Kentucky teenager after she had been missing for the past few days.

Lauryn Sizemore, 16, was last seen Saturday in the bedroom of her Dawson Springs home, wearing a grey hoodie with black strings. She was first noticed missing at 9:30 a.m. EDT the same day, the alert said.

The missing teen was described as a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 4'8" tall and weighs 130 pounds.

Sizemore was believed to be with her step-grandfather, Glenn Eugene Harper, 55, who told a friend of his that he was headed for Houston, Texas, where his father and brother live. He has grey hair, brown eyes and weighs 255 pounds.

According to authorities, Harper was driving a maroon 2004 Hyundai Sonata with the Kentucky license plate, number 9555994. One of the back doors of the vehicle had a piece of plastic missing. It was not clear whether Harper posed any threat to the teenager's life.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of either of Sizemore or Harper was requested to call 911, or contact the Dawson Springs Police at 270-797-2277.
