The first golden buzzer recipient of “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 has just been named.

On Tuesday, the hit NBC reality TV show premiered with a slew of contestants showcasing their different talents. But judge Mel B’s heart was captured by a 12-year-old singing ventriloquist named Darci Lynne. The adorable tween entered the stage with an equally adorable bunny wearing a pink dress. The judges asked Darci why she decided to pursue ventriloquism, and she said that she wants to keep the act alive.

What made the young girl’s routine stand out is the fact that she made it seem like her bunny was the one belting out a tune. Darci showed off her singing chops and reached very high notes during her performance. After completing her act, Darci received a standing ovation from Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel, as well as the audience.

Mel B also surprised her when she pressed the golden buzzer on the judges’ table. Darci was then joined by her mom, Mel B and host Tyra Banks on stage for the special moment. Receiving the golden buzzer means Darci and her adorable bunny will directly advance to the live shows in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, other standout acts included an escape artist named Demian Aditya, who locked himself inside a glass case that was filled with sand. When the sand fell on his body, everyone thought that Demian was in danger. But he shocked them after he escaped from the glass case like nothing happened.

Puddle Party Party walked on stage wearing a full clown costume. He had a sad look on his face, which appeared to make the judges feel especially drawn towards him. But he surprised everyone when instead of doing a clown act, he sang Sia’s hit song, “Chandelier.”

Junior & Emily Alibi added a modern twist to the salsa dance in their routine. The siblings danced their hearts out which resulted in a standing ovation from all four judges.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
