The Motorola Droid Turbo owners can finally relax as the Android 5.1 Lollipop update has been confirmed for their handsets. Jose Arturo, Verizon's device test engineer, added a Google+ post stating that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Droid Turbo will be seeded in mid-June. Subsequently, he was admonished for letting out the information and hence, he has now removed the Google+ post.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For Motorola Droid Turbo

According to Phone Arena, the Motorola Droid Turbo will reportedly be updated from Android 4.4 KitKat to Android 5.1 Lollipop directly in June. This means, the primary version Android 5.0 will be skipped altogether. Based on Arturo’s Google+ post, the delay in updating the Droid Turbo to the latest Android version is because of Verizon's nationwide HD Voice service. To be specific, Verizon was reportedly wary of the software update in order to make sure it does not affect the voice quality negatively.

Motorola Droid Turbo Price And Carrier

In case, readers are planning to purchase the Motorola Droid Turbo, the device can be had for $99 with a contract. On the other hand, the handset can also be purchased outright for a price of $499. The other option is to purchase the smartphone by shelling out $20.83 each month for a total of 24 months via Verizon Edge plan. Also it is worth noting that, this Motorola handset is exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the U.S.

New Motorola Droid Turbo Color Options

Beginning May 28, Verizon will reportedly sell the Motorola Droid Turbo in three limited edition metallic colors. The choices include a gray ballistic nylon model with three new accents namely metallic blue, metallic orange and metallic violet. However, at this point, the handset can be purchased only in standard black, blue and red hues, according to Phone Arena.
