Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reunited onscreen for “By The Sea.” As the writer and director of the film, Jolie said she now appreciates her husband’s work ethic and creative process all the more.

One of the Hollywood's most powerful couples are co-starring after a gap of a decade. “By the Sea” is the first film that Jolie and Pitt have done together after starring in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” released in 2005. This time Jolie is not just Pitt’s co-star but also his director. She told People that after “By the Sea,” “I understand and appreciate his creative process and his work ethic even more than before.”

The two wed before the shooting of the movie commenced, and the newlywed couple mixed their work with pleasure and also celebrated their honeymoon in Malta, where the film was being shot. Jolie said that it was, however, difficult for them to act as an estranged couple soon after their wedding. "It was hardest [when] I was directing our fight scenes," Jolie said.

The movie tells the story of a dancer, Vanessa (Jolie), who lives with her husband Roland (Pitt) in 1970s France. The estranged couple set out for a sea journey. Apart from Jolie and Pitt, there are two more couples in the story, People reported. "And at its center are the questions of what happened to Roland and Vanessa and why they are in the place they are now," Jolie told People.

Meanwhile, new behind-the-scene photos of the movie have been released. Jolie and Pitt are seen dressed up in '70s style. In one of the pictures, published on People magazine, Jolie can be seen wearing a vintage gown, with her hair tied up in a curled-up bun. She is wearing a sheer, off-white gown with full sleeves, and Pitt is standing next to her in a bathrobe.

“By the Sea” hits theaters on Nov. 13.
