Angelina Jolie became the latest victim of a death hoax after a scam website shared a post on Facebook stating that the actress has committed suicide. According to several reports, a post under the tagline "CNN Video Footage: Angelina Jolie Says Goodbye to Her Fans and to Brad Pitt Before Doing This Suicidal," surfaced and was later revealed to be a fake.

A scam website was luring in Facebook users to click the link and give access to post on the people's Facebook page, the Inquistr reported. Snopes, a website covering urban legends and Internet rumors, reported that these clickbait websites post these hoax posts to gain access to the personal information of the users.

The hoax video is reportedly similar to the one that surfaced recently claiming that Jaden Smith is dead.

Over the years, several hoax stories have surfaced surrounding many celebrities, including, Jackie Chan, Shaggy, Miley Cyrus, Jim Carrey, Johnny Depp and many others.

Jolie has been surrounded with several rumors over the past few months with reports claiming that she and her husband are heading for a divorce. Fights over their career and Pitt's close relationship with his co-stars have also surfaced. Some reports have also claimed that Jolie has been suffering from a serious health issue because of troubled marriage. However, all the reports about Jolie and Pitt's marriage have been debunked.
