Ant Anstead has spoken about his painful split with Christina Anstead, nearly three months after they announced the news.

The “Wheelers Dealers” host addressed the elephant in the room during his first interview since the split, telling People how the breakup affected him and how he plans to cope with it. Ant also said that he didn’t make the decision.

“It really hit me hard. If you ask anybody that knows me properly, they know that I give myself fully. I had so much love for her,” Ant said.

Ant is in a better place after being in a darker one after his split with Christina. Thankfully, he chose to “move on and work on myself” rather than dwell on those moments.

It can be remembered that the 41-year-old enrolled in a breakup recovery course and signed up for a retreat aimed to focus on physical and mental health. These programs, Ant said, had greatly helped him realize that only he can control himself.

“It’s up to me to empower myself and realize how incredibly worthy I am of healing. Not only have I improved my mental health, I've actually made a real conscious decision to go and improve my physical health, as well. I mean, for the first time in my life, I'm actually now taking vitamins!” Ant added.

Despite being in a better place nowadays, he understands that healing is a process that takes time. Ant shared that he is slowly taking steps to move ahead in that process.

In September, Ant and Christina announced they were calling it quits after almost two years of being married. The motor specialist revealed the bad news on Instagram with a black-and-white photo, writing “I never gave up on us.”

Close friends of the former love birds were allegedly surprised by the news, especially since the couple seemed OK in front of them. There were claims that Christina felt “lonely and unhappy” despite having a big family.

Christina and Ant share a son, and each of them has two children from previous marriages. After the split, the “Flip or Flop” star was accused of being an absent mom by online trolls. She then took to Instagram to clap back against comments claiming she “must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids.” She said that it has been an “isolating year” that entailed a lot of changes for most people.
