Christina Anstead lambasted online trolls who accused her of being an “absent mother,” explaining that it wasn’t a “contest.”

The “Flip or Flop” star, who recently filed for divorce from estranged husband Ant Anstead, took to Instagram to clap back against comments claiming she “must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids.” She said that it has been an “isolating year” that entailed a lot of changes for most people.

“So despite what you see on Instagram most people are struggling,” Christina wrote, adding, “Smh wake up people. I hardly post anymore … I def do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who’s a better parent … f that.”

Christina also pointed out that not seeing her kids on social media meant the opposite – that she is with them and “present.” She went on to urge her followers to stop “parent shaming” and “choosing sides when there is no side to choose.”

The “Christina on the Coast” star also reminded her followers to take what they see on social media with a grain of salt since there are a lot of “filters and fake smiles.”

“I’ve been guilty of faking it too. We are all struggling — some of us are just better at ‘masking’ it,” she added.

Christina shares two kids with ex-husband and “Flip or Flop” co-host Tarek El Moussa and a 13-month-old baby boy with Ant.

Christina and Ant announced their split in September, leaving many fans and friends shocked, according to reports. Two months later, the HGTV star filed for divorce from her estranged husband after less than two years of marriage.

“Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority," Christina announced on Instagram.

Although they didn’t disclose the cause of their breakup, one unnamed source earlier claimed that Christina and Ant have been experiencing marital problems after she gave birth to their son Hudson last year. She was also “lonely and unhappy” despite having a large blended family, the insider said.
