'Apex Legends' New Patch Seeks To Solve Fortified Buff Bug, Hit Registration Issues
“Apex Legends” developers, Respawn Entertainment, confirmed some details about the new patch coming to the battle royale game. Bugs on the exclusive Fortified buff on big body characters and hit registration issues are going to be answered with this patch. Moreover, the “slow movement speed upon dropping” issue is going to be addressed as well in the next patch.
According to the official “Apex Legends” Reddit, many updates are coming with the next patch, but most of them are quality of life updates. The changes are intended to make the game better in terms of stability as an application rather than add gameplay tweaks to change the game.
The new patch will reportedly fix bugs on the Fortified ability of characters such as Caustic and Gibraltar. To compensate for being a large target, these characters can take more hits before they go down.
However, problems arose from the new passive skill as there are cases where the damage would ignore the big character’s armor and slightly hurt their health instead. The health damage shouldn’t normally happen if a player is still wearing armor.
Other than the Fortified buff bug, the inconsistent hit registration issue will also be fixed. The problem with this feature is that many shots can be avoided depending on a character’s pose and the player’s mismatched connection with the servers. Respawn Entertainment is still looking into this issue and in the process of grasping the whole situation.
Speaking of servers, the “slowdown” at the beginning of matches has been confirmed to be a server mismatch between the player and their specific regional data center. If the problem happens, players are stuck with slow movement speed so other players can outrun them by walking. This slowdown is an issue as players' sluggish movement speed prevents them from racing others to important loot and win.
For now, we’ll have to wait for more details and the release of this new patch. By next month, “Apex Legends” will enter its second season and show more loot for its players.
