Apple’s September event is coming near. What are the devices we can expect from the Cupertino tech giant come next month? Here’s a quick glance at what Apple might have in store for tech-hungry consumers.

Apple usually launches new hardware, particularly new iPhones and Apple Watches, every September. This year’s September event might be different, though, as the Cupertino tech giant might have more surprises in store for the masses.

New iPhones

Next month sees the launch of the three rumored successors to the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max, dubbed the iPhone 11R, iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max. All three of them will look similar to the current flagships, but will feature a new square camera module at the back to house an upgraded camera setup.

The three iPhones are rumored to have display sizes and screen resolutions similar to their predecessors, 9To5Mac noted: the iPhone 11 will have a 5.8-inch OLED display, the iPhone 11R will have a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, and the iPhone 11 Max will have a 6.5-inch OLED display.

All three will feature additional cameras. The lower-priced iPhone XR successor will now have two rear cameras (wide and ultrawide angle sensors), while the two higher-end iPhone XS and XS Max successors will each have three rear-mounted cameras (wide, telephoto and ultrawide angle sensors). The front-facing camera is also upgraded to support slow-motion recording at 120 fps.

A new type of Taptic Engine is placed inside the new iPhones. Its features remain unknown at the moment, but it’s possible that this new engine will be used for the new Haptic Touch feature that came with iOS 13.

The new iPhone models will feature the A13 chip, and will retain the existing Lightning port.

A new iPad

A report also adds that Apple might be releasing an iPad in September this year. According to Digitimes, “global tablet PC shipments are expected to surge 19.3% sequentially in the third quarter,” and one of the major reasons for this will be “the launch of new iPads.”

Now, what kind of iPad will this be? The report said “Apple is set to release 10.2-inch new iPads in late third quarter.” The report didn’t give any details regarding the iPad’s specs, however.
