The new 16-inch MacBook Pro features an impressive range of upgrades starred by a more dependable scissor-switch Magic Keyboard. But, it appears that the Cupertino-based tech giant missed upgrading a couple of crucial components on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Apple also announced that with the release of the bigger MacBook Pro model, it is discontinuing the 15-inch MacBook Pro.

The all-new Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro features a six-speaker system, the return of the scissor-switch keyboard, and the ability to be configured to up to 64 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, it still has the 802.11ac WiFi chip. Apple launched the WiFi 6 to the iPhone 11, and it is disappointing to see that this is not included in the upgrades found in the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Another notable weakness found in the latest Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro is that it still uses the 720p FaceTime Camera. It is worth noting that both the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro feature front-facing cameras capable of shooting 4K. Over the past months, the 16-inch MacBook Pro has been highly anticipated, and it never fails to deliver the scissor-switch keyboard.

The new magic Keyboard of Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro provides a physical Escape (ESC) Key, as well as, an inverted T arrow key arrangement and a Touch Bar. The latest keyboard features a rubber dome designed by Apple with 1 mm travel and with a far stable feel. Many users are definitely happy to bid farewell to the undependable and uncomfortable butterfly keyboard.

The solid-state drive storage of the 16-inch MacBook Pro can be configured with up to 8TB of solid stated drive storage. It also has an improved thermal performance, which will help sustain the GPU and CPU, allowing it to run at full speed. The baseline GPU delivers up to 2.1 times faster graphics performance compared to its predecessor.

With all these exciting improvements, Apple announced that it had discontinued the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Although the smaller Apple laptop is no longer available in new condition from the company, it can still be purchased as certified refurbished from Apple says 9to6mac. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is now available at a starting price of $2399.
