He was already facing allegations that he sent messages to women indicating fantasies of both sexual abuse and cannibalism, and now, Armie Hammer is facing a much more serious one: rape.

The newest charge comes after a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred and a woman named Effie, who claimed that Hammer raped her over a four-hour period in April 2017, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the LAPD is investigating a sexual assault case that was opened on Feb. 3, and they confirmed that Hammer is a suspect in that case.

Effie, whose last name has not been revealed claimed Hammer violently assaulted her on April 24, 2017, and indicated that during the alleged assault, he repeatedly slammed her head against a wall and committed other, non-consensual violent acts against her, including beating her feet with a riding crop.

“During those four hours, I tried to get away but he wouldn’t let me,” she said. “I thought he was going to kill me. Then [he] left with no concern for my well-being.”

The two were engaged in an on-and-off relationship from 2016 until 2020, which she claimed involved mental, emotional and sexual abuse.

The allegations come after Hammer was already embroiled in a scandal involving the leaking of disturbing and unverified comments and conversations with women on social media which shared fantasies attributed to Hammer that outlined abuse behaviors, coercion and cannibalism. Hammer denied the claims, but later exited the film “Shotgun Wedding,” as a result, and he was also later dropped by both his publicist and his agency, WME.

One of his ex-girlfriends, Paige Lorenze, later shared messages which indicated BDSM fantasies he shared with her a well.

The Hollywood Reporter also pointed out that an online account that also had surfaced as one which showed the original messages belonged to @houseofeffie, which is not verified to be the same woman at the press conference, but is believed to be her.

Hammer has responded to the latest claims through his lawyer, Andrew Brettler, who claimed that the allegations were outrageous and that Effie herself had continued to initiate contact with the actor and share graphic content.

“As recently as July 18, 2020, [Effie] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her. Mr. Hammer responded making it clear that he did not want to maintain that type of relationship with her,” he said.
