Premier League leaders Arsenal have an eight-point edge on Manchester City near the midpoint of the season. Mikel Arteta appears interested in strengthening the attack by adding at least one forward, according to reports.

There are five forwards who have been linked to Arsenal in recent weeks ahead of the January transfer deadline. The speculation is understandable as there is pressure to bolster the attack with striker Gabriel Jesus' return in doubt after suffering a knee injury at the World Cup.

Could Arsenal look to La Liga? Barcelona reportedly may be willing to part ways with Brazilian Raphinha and Spaniard Ferran Torres, though it's unclear if Arsenal would pay a heavy price tag for either player.

Raphinha, 26, signed with Barcelona in July on a five-year contract for a reported fee of about £50 million. Torres, 22, made a name for himself with Manchester City and joined Barcelona in December 2021, signing a five-year contract with a buyout clause of €1 billion.

Raphinha isn't the only Brazilian linked to Arsenal. There's also Luiz Henrique, who joined Real Betis in the summer and is under contract until 2028. The 22-year-old began his professional career with Fluminense and has scored twice for Real Betis in nine appearances.

A more likely option may be out-of-favor Belgian winger Leandro Trossard, who will be seeking a new contract at the end of the season and amid reports that he has been at odds with Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Trossard, 31, has been with Brighton since 2019. Arsenal may face competition with rivals Tottenham for Trossard's services.

Another rumor that never seems to go away with Arsenal is adding Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Guardian noted that the 22-year-old Serb has a £71 million fee.

Vlahovic has proven to be effective for club and country. He has 13 goals in 25 appearances for Juventus, and 10 goals in 19 appearances for Serbia.
