“Assassin’s Creed Unity” launched on Tuesday, and the historical action-adventure game -- which is the seventh main installment in the popular series -- has a number of issues and bugs on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions, according to players, game forums and several YouTube videos.

Not only are the game’s reviews mediocre, with an average score of 76/100 on Metacritic, but developer Ubisoft’s stock plummeted 9.12 percent in Europe just after the “Unity” release. Though it’s too early for French developer Ubisoft to reveal the game’s sales figures, users are growing increasingly frustrated at the errors and glitches in “Unity,” which include faceless characters, hovering, missing skin and more.

“Unity” was originally scheduled for a release date of Oct. 28, but was pushed back to Nov. 11 in North American and Nov. 13 in Europe. When asked about the delay, senior producer Vincent Pontbriand said he felt his team was “near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ is exceptional.”

Oddly enough, it seems the development team may have suspected that “Unity” wouldn’t live up to the high standards of consumers, since it set its review embargo for 12 p.m. EST on Tuesday, a full 12 hours after the game’s release at 12 a.m. the same day. Ubisoft responded to the complaints in a forum post, promising players it was working quickly to resolve the issue.

We are aware that the graphics performance of Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC may be adversely affected by certain AMD CPU and GPU configurations. This should not affect the vast majority of PC players, but rest assured that AMD and Ubisoft are continuing to work together closely to resolve the issue, and will provide more information as soon as it is available.

Some users haven’t reported any issues with the game, which is only available for the PC and eighth-generation Xbox One and PS4, but many are taking to social media to voice their dissatisfaction with the latest “Assassin’s Creed” installment.
