Following Monday’s “The Bachelor,” ABC released a new preview for the second half of the season. Despite rumors Colton Underwood ends the show without an engagement, the trailer showed the Season 23 star holding a ring box. So, what’s the truth? Is Colton secretly engaged? Here’s what we know.

Prior to the show’s 2019 premiere, it was reported by the ever-reliable Reality Steve that Colton ends his “The Bachelor” reign with contestant Cassie Randolph as his winner. After initially reporting the two were engaged, he backtracked, later claiming the two were only dating. It is his claim that Cassie quits the show after deciding she’s not ready for an engagement only for her and Colton to later reconnect. The two are said to still be together.

While most in-the-know fans are aware Colton ends the season sans-fiancée, ABC’s latest promo has some questioning if he does end up getting engaged.

“When you share that part of yourself with somebody, there’s no going back,” Colton says after talking about fantasy suite dates and possibly losing his virginity in the new trailer. “I’ve never loved somebody as much as I love her.”

“I’m excited, I’m nervous because today is the biggest day of my life. I am getting down on one knee…” he adds.

While this scene got some fans’ tongues wagging, it has been discovered that there is actually no ring inside said box.

“For everyone hyperventilating right now, ummmmmm, there was no ring in the box just so you know ,” Reality Steve tweeted alongside photographic evidence on Monday night.

“The Bachelor” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
