China's top search engine Baidu Inc said on Monday that its chief technology officer has resigned for personal reasons.

Li Yinan was appointed as Baidu's CTO in 2008, before which he was in a similar role with Huawei Technologies.

We appreciate all that Yinan has contributed to Baidu and we wish him every success in his future endeavors, said Robin Li, Baidu's chief executive, in a statement.

The announcement of Li's resignation coincides with a management change announced earlier this month.
