  • Ravens kicker Justin Tucker reveals that he feels nervous prior to making kicks
  • The 31-year-old scored another game-winner this season, this time in Week 9 against the Vikings
  • Tucker's continued dominance of the kicking game will figure to play a prominent role alongside quarterback Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens placekicker Justin Tucker revealed a human side to him in the post-game presser after scoring the game-winner against the Minnesota Vikings.

When asked about whether he feels any nervousness before kicking the ball, the 31-year-old bared his thoughts and confirmed that he is not as invincible as everyone sees him to be.

“Oh, of course, of course – every single time. It's always about managing your feelings and managing your emotions and channeling that into just making the kick. I've said this before, but all of my feelings and emotions, they don't really matter, they don't help me make the kick. I might be feeling nervous; I might be feeling confident. None of that actually matters,” a reflective Tucker told the media.

Baltimore fought back valiantly from a 17-10 score at the end of the first half before both teams traded touchdowns, leading to an overtime period.

The Ravens took the first shot at scoring in the extra frame, but Lamar Jackson’s pass was picked off just as when they were about to get into ideal field goal range.

However, the defense held up and forced the Vikings to punt the ball after putting pressure on quarterback Kirk Cousins to make tough passes.

Their second crack at scoring the game-winner surely had Tucker breathe a sigh of relief when he found out he was taking a much more comfortable 36-yard field goal attempt instead of the record-breaking 66 yarder he had against the Detroit Lions.

The University of Texas product stuck the ball in between the goal posts, pushing the Ravens to sole control of the AFC North division with a record of 6-2.

Tucker also dropped a nugget of wisdom that had the media chuckling in agreement.

“If you're not feeling a little bit nervous, like, are you really living? You know what I'm saying? If you're not feeling the emotion, the vibe of the game, then … As soon as I stop feeling that way, then it's time for me to be done. But I will never feel that way, so we're going to kick until the bitter end,” he light-heartedly proclaimed.

Lovingly named “Legatron” for his ability to score from anywhere on the field, Tucker is just as integral as Jackson is to their success and Ravens fans are more than happy to have him on the roster.
