  • Wid receiver Marquise Brown credits his breakout season to his teammates and coaching staff
  • He is poised for career-high numbers across the board after his hot start
  • Brown also mentions that it will only be a matter of time before Rashod Bateman goes off

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown is enjoying a big season, and he made sure to show some love to his teammates and coaches for helping him get there.

Speaking to the media ahead of their matchup with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, November 7, Brown agreed with the assessment put out by offensive coordinator Greg Roman earlier in the presser.

“Before, in years past, I haven't been able to practice, get better or just continue to build and work on myself. This year, I've been able to be out there with my teammates, just learning different things each and every day,” Brown remarked.

Better known to football fans as “Hollywood,” the third-year receiver out of Oklahoma is on pace to put up career numbers for the rest of the season.

Through seven games, the speedy receiver caught 35 balls for 566 yards, averaging a career-best 15.2 yards per catch, along with six touchdowns.

His best touchdown catch this year by far is that of an over-the-shoulder diving catch against the Denver Broncos in Week 4, a week after dropping multiple catches against the Detroit Lions.

He is just two touchdowns away from tying up his career-high in a season and is on pace to reach his first 1,000-yard season if his partnership with quarterback Lamar Jackson continues to blossom.

Brown also spoke about his partnership with first-year receiver Rashod Bateman, who is starting to become a key piece of the Baltimore offense.

“It's pretty good. I think [it's good] with the whole receiving corps. But [Rashod] Bateman, he’s two games in, and he's ready to have that [big] game, and we're all behind him. We push each other like no other,” Brown said.

The Ravens are coming off a much-needed Bye Week in which head coach John Harbaugh revealed that the team had been working on its defensive fundamentals in preparation for the Minnesota game.

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals had a field day against the Ravens in Week 7, and defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale needs to prevent Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins from connecting with receivers Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson.

They currently sit atop the AFC North division with a 5-2 record after the New York Jets pulled off a massive upset against the Bengals in Week 8.

Defeating the Vikings would give the Ravens a much-needed cushion as they aim for a Super Bowl appearance this season.
