It looks like DC comics fans are about to get their first live-action look at the heroes and villains they love. New reports indicate that the first official trailer for Warner Bros.’ “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” could be here as early as mid-May.

According to sources from Collider, those who turn up to the theater to see the studio’s first big-budget project of the summer, “Mad Max: Fury Road,” will be treated to the trailer. The sneak peak will reportedly run in front of each showing of the Tom Hardy-led post apocalypse story, set for a May 15 release date. If the rumors true, it will mark the first live-action look at the highly-anticipated movie that’s been released to the general public.

Sure, there have been some cool images of Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), but no actual footage from the superhero flick has been revealed. That is, of course, unless you count the teaser footage that was shown to a small audience at Comic Con last year. It showed the man of steel squaring off with the dark knight on a rooftop in, what is presumably, Gotham City.

It’s unclear if the "Bathman vs. Superman" trailer will have actual footage from the movie or if it will simply be an HD version of the teaser that was already shown to fans. If it’s coming out in the month of May, Warner Bros. will want to hit fans with everything they’ve got in order to tease the movie. Most superhero fans will have “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on the brain at that time. The epic superhero follow-up from DC Comics’ rival, Marvel, is scheduled to hit theaters two weeks earlier on May 1.

Speaking of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the upcoming setup to DC comics “The Justice League” will have some competition in the trailer game as well. It was revealed Tuesday that the first full-length trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will drop in front of the hero-packed Marvel sequel.

So, to recap: if reports can be trusted, it looks like May 2015 will see the release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” a new “Star Wars 7” trailer, “Mad Max: Fury Road” and the first trailer for “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Basically, May is going to be a great month to be a nerd.
