World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) RAW and SmackDown women’s champion Becky Lynch is not one to mince words when talking about her passion for pro-wrestling and her opponents. The Irishwoman had no qualms about responding to a potential challenge from Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Chris Cyborg.

The former UFC women’s featherweight champion has hinted in the past about making her way to WWE like her former colleague Ronda Rousey, who was the RAW women’s champion before dropping her title to Lynch at WrestleMania 35 in April. Lynch is open to another UFC fighter entering the pro-wrestling world but made it clear that if they are not willing to work for it, they will suffer the same fate as Rousey.

Rousey made her official in-ring debut in the WWE at WrestleMania 34 and she soon became one of the most popular members of the company’s roster. She was crowned RAW women’s champion at SummerSlam and went on to dominate the women’s division.

Lynch believes the UFC Hall of Famer was handed the reins and it was not earned like the Irishwoman did, and hence she has now taken an indefinite hiatus from the promotion. Similarly, she has warned Cyborg if the UFC fighter wants to enter WWE, she has to be ready to earn her way to the top and not expect a free ride to the top like Rousey.

“Cris Cyborg, again, another very talented professional in her field, in her field. Look, if anybody loves it, if anybody's gonna obsess about this, if anybody's gonna put in the work, then do it. But you can't just come from another field and expect to be handed everything. Ronda was, but then we showed her the door quite quickly a year later,” Lynch said, as quoted on Wrestling Inc.

"So yeah, if Cris Cyborg wants to work, if she wants to get training, if she wants to pay her dues, then by all means. But if she thinks that she can step from an MMA world into my world, well then that's a whole different kettle of fish. No less than if I just went into her field without any proper training in that field. This is a different sport, and this is a different grind that not everybody is able (to do),” she added.

Lynch, now known as Becky “Two Belts”, also spoke about countryman Conor McGregor, who recently announced his retirement from MMA. The Irishwoman welcomed him to give WWE a shot but gave him the same advice about having to earn his way to the top.

"I'm not sure. I'm not sure what the future holds for Conor. But, like I said, again, if he wants to work for it, by all means. Come on, Conor. I'll give ya a little bit of training. I'll show you the ropes," Lynch said.
