Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas just ended their almost one-year romance, and both their relationship and split may be connected with the pandemic, a report says.

Affleck and de Armas had a whirlwind romance after meeting on the set of their thriller movie "Deep Water" in 2019. They were inseparable after confirming their relationship and even quarantined together. However, their relationship began to change as things slowly went back to normal, New York Post's Page Six reported.

"The quarantine was unique because they had downtime and really got to know each other spending time at home," the unnamed source told the New York Post. "But once work picked up, things started to change."

While spending the lockdown together last year, Affleck and de Armas were often seen enjoying walks with their dogs and having coffee runs in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood. However, as the pair returned to work, they decided to end their romance.

De Armas just signed on for "The Gray Man," which stars Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. Meanwhile, Affleck is set to star in George Clooney's adaptation of the book "The Tender Bar."

The split rumors started when Affleck and de Armas didn't spend the holidays together. She went home to Havana, Cuba, while he stayed in Los Angeles.

"She’s here for work reasons; like all actors, she lives wherever work takes her," one friend of de Armas told the outlet. "Ana decided she doesn’t want to live in LA and Ben wants to be close to his family. His priority is to be rooted in LA. They are in different places [in their lives]."

Affleck and de Armas’ split made headlines last week after an insider confirmed their breakup to Page Six. At the time, it was reported that the separation was allegedly due to Affleck refusing to commit to starting a new family with the “Knives Out” star.

"He would not commit to having more kids," the source said. "She is in her 30s. It was a deal-breaker."

According to the report, the "Batman v Superman" actor sees his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8 — as his priority. But some of Affleck and de Armas' friends reportedly believe that their split is just temporary and that they may still get back together in the future.
