Ben Affleck, Lindsay Shookus Going Strong, Not Vacationing To Save Relationship: Report

Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus are going strong and are very much together despite rumors of them being on vacation to save their troubled relationship. Gossip Cop debunked a report by In Touch which said the two are on a “romantic getaway” to reaffirm their commitment.

In Touch reported that Affleck’s slow-moving divorce from Jennifer Garner had started creating rift between the couple.

“Ben and Jen are still in the process of dividing assets. Ben went out of his way to ease Lindsay’s mind by whisking her away — and now they’re back on track,” a source had told the magazine adding that the two wanted to switch off from the outside world and enjoy each other’s company.

However, a source told Entertainment Tonight last month that the two remain stronger than ever. "During Ben and Jennifer's split, Lindsay truly felt villainized. Every day she spent with Ben out in the world for people to see felt like another day of public scrutiny, but her love for Ben was worth it. They both learned to stick by each other during those painful months,” the source said.

Affleck and Garner filed for divorce in April 2017 after being married for more than 10 years. “What I think I’ve learned is that the scrutiny in your private life puts a pressure to make something happen. You feel a pressure to hurry up and get married, cause you think that’ll end the — ‘Are they engaged? Are they not?’ And that’s true in the reverse, as well. If you are — if you know, if there is any inkling of trouble, or if the tabloids decide there’s trouble, it can create trouble,” Garner said in an interview earlier.

In July, Affleck and Garner were seen spending some quality time together with their children. “They were laughing and smiling throughout the show and at intermission, and engaging with the kids. Some fans said hello and they were both really kind,” an onlooker said, People reported.

Affleck and Shookus on the other hand confirmed their relationship in July last year, three months after the actor filed for a divorce. The couple was spotted going to dinner with her family last month. A source told E! News, Shookus is on hiatus from work to spend more time with Affleck in Los Angeles.

"They are also taking some trips and spending time with her family in New York, she is loving being with Ben and enjoying his new house,” the source said.

"Lindsay's daughter has been spending a lot of time with them and has really gotten to know Ben. Lindsay has not shied away from including her daughter in her time with Ben and incorporating her into their lives," the source further said. "She also had her parents in town and they spent a lot of time entertaining them. Her parents are crazy about Ben and think he is so smart and charming. They are totally captivated by him and he has been very generous and warm to them."
