A day after angering Americans with his comments about extra legroom fares affecting people of color, President Joe Biden has offended vigilant citizens for the second day in a row by making false claims about past gas prices.

Biden, who will be in Philadelphia on Friday, spoke about economic issues in Syracuse, New York, Thursday. These visits are strategized to highlight his administration's attempts to bring costs down, to create financial breathing room for families.

However, his attempts were tainted by his off-color remarks and false claims. Townhall.com tweeted a video of Biden stating two wrong facts regarding gas prices, during the Thursday speech.

"Today, the most common price of gas in America is $3.39, down from over $5 when I took office," he said, reported Snopes.com.

Data shows, the average price of gas was $2.39 the week ending in Jan. 25, 2021, reported USA Today.

Here is a transcript of the remark.

"And because of the actions we've taken, gas prices are declining. We're down $1.25 since the peak of this summer, and they've been falling for the last three weeks as well, adding up real savings for families," transcribed Snopes.com.

"Today, the most common price of gas in America is $3.39, down from over $5 when I took office. We need to keep making that progress by having energy companies bring down the cost of a gallon of gas that reflects the cost they're paying for a barrel of oil," he said.

Biden also said the average current price of gas was $3.39 as of late October 2022, a far cry from the figures quoted by the Associated Press on Oct. 22. "The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.82, down eight cents from last week," the report said, adding the prices were $3.36 per gallon, this time last year.

Biden's false claims angered a section of Twitter users, who proceeded to criticize him on the platform. "The 'clarification' on this one will be fun," said one.

"It was not 5 dollars when you took office Liar in Chief. It was an average of 2.39. What doesn't anyone challenge him on this?' asked another.

"WOW, he really sounds like he believes what he is saying. Every American that have purchased gas over the last 3 years knows he mistaken. REALLY sad to watch. Scary, he's the President of all of us for the next 2 years," said a third.
