Following a settlement by his insurance company AIG, Bill Cosby has dropped his defamation suit against seven female accusers. Cosby filed the lawsuits against the women who have accused the disgraced comedian of sexual assault.

Cosby filed the papers on Friday, closing the defamation suits that have been pending over the last four years. Cosby’s insurance company, AIG, settled with the women in April, which the 81-year-old said was without his knowledge or consent. The settlements were for an undisclosed amount.

According to Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s spokesman, the suits, which the comedian vowed to pursue were dropped “to focus on other matters.”

Cosby is currently serving three to 10 years in the SCI-Phoenix prison in Pennsylvania for the drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand in 2004. aHe is currently trying to appeal his sentence.
