'Black Clover' Chapter 287 Preview, Spoilers: Nacht's Vow To Surpass His Limits

In Chapter 286, the manga continues to show the Faust family's backstory. The chapter opens with Nacht narrating the past story of the Faust brothers.

Nacht and Morgen were polar opposite. Nacht reveals his brother Morgen loved everyone and he could sacrifice himself for even a stranger. He recalls Morgen was like his magic attribute, Light.

He remembers his first meeting with a foreigner named Yami Sukehiro who used creepy magic. Nacht says they got along well because they shared similar magic attributes.

As the story progresses, Nacht reveals that Yami and Morgen have joined the Gray Deer Brigade. He remembers it came as a shock to him that a guy like Yami would become a Magic Knight. Morgen tells Nacht he has the greatest talent for magic and he should join the Magic Knights with him.

Later, when Nacht turns 18, his parents summon him to announce that he will inherit the house of Faust.

They take him to a secret chamber and reveal the family members have devoted themselves to the study of devils for countless years. His parents announce Nacht has inherited the magic and the spirit.

Meanwhile, Morgen and Yami train together to become a powerful duo of dark and light. Nacht immerses himself into the study of devils and he manages to contract with four devils and master their powers.

Nacht's father tells him about contracting with the Supreme Devil Lucifugus. However, Morgen finds out about the family's attempt to practice forbidden magic. Morgen tries to stop Nacht from summoning Lucifugus but it is too late.

After summoning the devil, Nacht realizes his blunder as the devil kills his family members. Toward the end, Morgen rises and sends the devil back to the underworld. However, he is gravely wounded and dies in Nacht's arms.
