The South Korean girl group, Blackpink, will be celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The celebration has been titled as "4+1 Project."

The band shared a cryptic message about the anniversary celebration on its official Twitter page on Tuesday.

Fans speculate that the girl group band might release "Blackpink The Movie" on Aug. 8 like how it dropped its first single album, "Square One," on the same date in 2016.

YG Entertainment, which formed the girl group, is yet to share any details about the "4+1 Project." The girl group consists of four girls, including Kim Jennie, Lalisa Manoban, Jisoo and Roseanne Park.

Fans were elated after seeing the message. One person wrote, "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE I can go to sleep now after seeing this happy news I love Blackpink forever."

Blackpink will reportedly release "Blackpink The Movie" on Aug. 8 and it will be shown worldwide including in CGV, which is the largest cinema chain in South Korea.

In the movie, the girl members will walk down memory lane and share their best moments. The movie will also feature an unreleased interview of the girl band. Additionally, it will consist of five re-edited songs from the 2018 studio album "In Your Area" and "The Show," which was released in January.

The cinema company is reportedly planning to provide an immersive experience to fans in theaters. They will be able to watch the movie on Screen X. In this format, fans can watch the content on three screen walls on their left, right and front.

"Blackpink The Movie" reportedly will be a part of the "4+1 Project." YG Entertainment is expected to reveal more surprises soon.

Blackpink dropped their first studio album, titled "The Album," on Oct. 2, 2020, under the Universal Music Group label. The album consists of eight tracks, including "Ice Cream" featuring Selena Gomez and "Bet You Wanna" featuring Cardi B.
