Blackpink’s Rosé has topped music charts and streaming platforms with her latest single "On The Ground." The singer opened up about her thoughts on promoting as a solo artist in the latest episode of SBS’s TV show "My Ugly Duckling."

Rosé officially made her solo debut with her album titled "R" which was released through her managing agency YG Entertainment, and Interscope Records on March 12.

The album consists of two tracks -- the lead single "On The Ground" which was released on the same day and a B-side track titled "Gone" which was first introduced to the public through a performance during Blackpink’s first online concert "The Show."

"On The Ground" grabbed the No.1 spot on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 51 regions following its release. The music video achieved an impressive 39 million views within 24 hours of its premiere. The single also debuted at No.8 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart with 3,262,615 streams within 24 hours of its release. On the other hand, "Gone" landed at No. 11 with 2,945,783 streams, according to Soompi.

The South Korean-New Zealand singer recently made a guest appearance on an episode of the variety show "My Ugly Duckling" which aired on March 14 and talked about her solo debut and the advantages of promoting solo.

"The general meaning of the song is that for those who are searching for meaning in life, we already have the answer within ourselves," she said while talking about "On The Ground."

When asked about the pros and cons of promoting solo when compared to promoting as a group, the singer responded, "In terms of what’s difficult, there are times when you feel uncertain about something while promoting [as a singer]."

"Since I don’t have all the answers, when I’m not sure what to do about something, I typically discuss it with the other BLACKPINK members and ask them for their opinions. We can discuss it and talk things through as a group," she added.

"But when I’m promoting solo, I have to take the lead and do things on my own. It’s definitely hard not having my friends to rely on," she further explained.

"As for the pros of promoting solo, now that I’m getting ready on my own, it takes less time to get ready. So I can wake up a little later," she jokingly added, as reported by Soompi.

Rosé will be performing "On The Ground" at "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on March 16.

Rosé made her singing debut as a vocalist and member of the girl group Blackpink in August 2016 under YG Entertainment along with Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa.
