‘Blindspot’
Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) will finally be together in “Blindspot” Season 3. NBC

“Blindspot” Season 3 fans will finally get an episode dedicated to Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller’s (Sullivan Stapleton) relationship.

While speaking with TV Line, executive producer Martin Gero shared some details about how the two characters’ relationship will be explored in the premiere. Gero admitted that Jane and Weller’s dynamic will be “shaky” in the beginning, but it also cannot be denied that they are in love with each other.

“The first episode back is going to be the most fulfilling ‘Jeller’ episode we’ve ever done. They are in love, there’s a very good reason they haven’t seen each other in a while and Weller’s been searching for her,” he said.

Gero added that in Season 3, episode 1, viewers will learn why Jane and Weller haven’t seen each other in a very long time. “So much will be explained. What’s Jane doing in the middle of nowhere? Why haven’t she and Weller seen each other in so long? Why did she run? All of that will be answered, and they’ll immediately pick up to go find their friends,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jane and Weller’s relationship wouldn’t be the only source of romance in “Blindspot” Season 3. According to Gero, they might finally decide to explore a possible link between Reade (Rob Brown) and Zapata (Audrey Esparza). Unfortunately, Zapata will no longer be working with the FBI as she will be part of the CIA this time around. But this doesn’t mean she will not be teaming up with her former colleagues ever again.

In other news, “Blindspot” Season 3 has also added two new characters in the wake of Michelle Hurd’s exit. Hurd’s Shepherd won’t return for the upcoming episodes. Tori Anderson and Kristina Reyes, on the other hand, have been cast in recurring roles, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Anderson will play the role of Blake, who will develop a bond with Jane’s brother, Roman (Luke Mitchell). Reyes will give life to the character of Avery, a socialite who has a complicated past. She will cross paths with Weller in episode 5.

“Blindspot” Season 3 will premiere on NBC on Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. EDT.
