  • "Abandoned" is an upcoming game set to release on PlayStation
  • It is currently in development at Blue Box Studios
  • "Abandoned" has no specific release date yet

The PlayStation-exclusive title "Abandoned" has attracted a lot of attention due to massive conspiracy theories on the internet about the game and its developer. But, Blue Box is a genuine gaming studio, which plans to give away a copy of the upcoming game for free.

In a recent interview with IGN, Blue Box Studios boss and "Abandoned" creator Hasan Kahraman revealed, those who pre-order its game titled "The Haunting: Blood Water Curse" will receive a free copy of "Abandoned."

"The Haunting: Blood Water Curse" is not currently available for purchase after its early access version was removed from marketplaces. Blue Box previously said it would release a finished product in the future.

The history of "The Haunting: Blood Water Curse" is just like "Abandoned" but without the conspiracy theories. The former is described as a love letter to the Fatal Frame franchise with players using a camera to search for ghosts and solve puzzles.

During the development of the game, the gaming studio was perhaps inexperienced and still learning the ropes. It launched the game into Early Access on Steam even if it was still in its Alpha state, making it unfinished.

During his interview with IGN, Kahraman explained that when "The Haunting: Blood Water Curse" was released last year in Early Access, it had "placeholders and involved animations and character models." He also said the reason the game did not do well is that people did not understand that the game's version is early access.

The report also revealed that Blue Box will soon add a form on its website that those who had already purchased the Early Access version of "The Haunting: Blood Water Curse" could use. After the studio received the proof of purchase, it will offer a "complete bundle" of "Abandoned" for free in return, which will be made available at the time of the game's release.

Giving away free copies of "Abandoned" is a good strategy although at this point it is unknown when the game it is tied to would officially release.

"Abandoned" is currently in development at Blue Box Studios and is anticipated to launch on PC and PlayStation consoles. It doesn't have any specific release date as of now.
