Despite earlier reports that Bobbi Kristina Brown is “awake,” family members are saying that the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston remains in a coma. The newer reports came less than 24 hours after members of the Brown family opened up publicly about the 22-year-old’s health condition.

TMZ reported that the Houstons said Bobbi Kristina was still on life support. “She’s in the exact same condition she was in when she went into the facility,” the Houston family told the celebrity news site. Although there has reportedly been the “occasional eye blink,” Bobbi Kristina is said to still be on a ventilator.

The confusion surrounding Bobbi Kristina’s health came after Bobby Brown told the audience at a Texas concert over the weekend that his daughter was “awake.” She has been in a medically induced coma since being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home on Jan. 31.

“I can say today … Bobbi is awake,” he told the crowd at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie. “She is watching me.”

Bobby Brown’s sister, Tina, shared a similar message on Facebook Monday morning. She addressed her followers in a post and stated that although there was “still a process,” her niece was no longer on life support.

USA Today reported that Christopher Brown, attorney for the Brown family, has not responded to requests for a statement. Gossip Cop reported that Bobby Brown’s words about his daughter being “awake” were “figurative and not literal.”

Bobbi Kristina Brown is currently at a rehab facility. She was moved last month after a failed attempt to remove her from life support in mid-February.
