“Bones” premiered an episode last week in which the Jeffersonian-FBI team investigated the death of an old man who resided in a retirement home. The case led to talk of marriage and kids amongst team members.

What happen this week in the Fox series?

The upcoming murder case is about to get personal. According to the official synopsis of “Bones” Season 12, episode 4, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) are going to investigate the death of someone from Booth’s past.

The preview of the episode, titled “The Final Chapter: The Price For The Past,” reveals that the murder victim was tortured to death. In fact, this person was brutally tortured while he or she was still alive. Dr. Brennan, a renowned forensic anthropologist, describes the ritual that led to the victim’s death in detail to her assistants.

Booth, of course, is shaken after he learns the news of the murder victim’s death. “This is about revenge,” he tells his wife. Later, in the video, the couple enters a building filled with gas cylinders. They only just manage to escape. In fact, one of them gets injured.

Episode 4 will also introduce the show’s main villain -- a serial killer. The synopsis of “Bones” Season 12 teased of an epic serial killer storyline. Is this new serial killer part of Booth’s past?

The “Bones” series finale will not only wrap up this serial killer storyline but also solve the mystery behind 447. The show’s executive producer, Michael Peterson, teased about the enigma to TVLine, “It has to do with time. I think it’s one of the most impactful moments in Booth and Brennan’s life. It’s the moment that everything changes.”
