  • Suffolk County district attorney said early evidence pointed to murder-suicide
  • Mother involved in reported domestic dispute with children's father
  • Autopsy results are pending

Boston Police said Friday they suspect murder-suicide in the deaths of a woman and her two children, whose bodies were found outside a parking garage.

Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins identified the woman, Erin Pascal, 40, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, as the primary suspect in what investigators said was a murder-suicide. The children were identified as Pascal’s daughter Allison, 4, and son Andrew, 1.

Pascal and her children were found unconscious on a sidewalk outside Renaissance Parking Garage in Boston around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead. Police also found a black SUV on the top level of the garage with two child car seats.

“Yesterday the unspeakable happened and now we are all struggling to make sense of the circumstances surrounding these deaths,” Rollins said Thursday.

Boston CBS-affiliate WBZ, quoting a source, said Pascal was involved in a domestic dispute with the children’s father. The fight reportedly escalated, resulting in Pascal leaving their home with the children. The father reportedly called police, fearing Pascal was suicidal.

Rollins said investigators are awaiting autopsy results before moving forward in the investigation.
