WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder has revealed he has been amazed by his God-given knockout power.

In the midst of several fight talks, Wilder recently had time to talk about his past and his future. During an exclusive interview with GQ, Wilder opened up about his life and boxing.

According to Wilder, he believes that in the billions of people in the world, there are only few of them who has that knockout power. In fact, he even said that no one in the world can do what he has accomplished in boxing.

“No one can do what I can do. No one would dare to even get in that ring like that. It's only a very small few. And that's a big accomplishment for me. So I say it loud, I say it proud, with a smile on my face,” Wilder said.

Speaking of knockout power, Wilder was very quick to answer when asked if he thinks he has great power in his hands. As per Wilder, he is very well aware of his “God-given” knockout power and he finds it amazing.

“Yes. Yes. Yes. Since I've known me, I've known me to be a hard hitter. I'm known to be able to knock guys out. It's amazing. It was just God-given,” Wilder said.

The 33-year-old heavyweight champ also shared his true feelings about boxing. For Wilder, there’s nothing like the sport of boxing. “There’s nothing like boxing. To be able to stand up on your feet, if need be, 36 minutes, and use your mind to create some type of opening, some type of way to decoding this guy to either beat him on points or to knock him out,” Wilder added.

More importantly, Wilder revealed that whenever he gets inside the ring, he always go for a knockout since he isn’t paid for overtime.

“I prefer a knockout, because I don't get paid for overtime, okay? I don't get paid for overtime, and people love to see a knockout when it comes to heavyweight division. So I give them that,” Wilder shared.

Back in the heavyweight division, Wilder is currently being linked to the winner of Ruiz vs. Joshua rematch. In a recent interview with 78Sports TV, Wilder stated that he is interested in fighting either Joshua or Ruiz. To do so, he would like his former foe Tyson Fury to “step aside” and forget about their rematch.
