Netflix released the first look at "Bridgerton" Season 2 and it appears Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) will have a hard time winning Kate Sharma's (Simone Ashley) heart.

In the clip released Saturday during Netflix's TUDUM fan event, Anthony is first seen looking for love in all the wrong places. But he eventually secures a marriage to Kate's sister Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). However, he will find himself more drawn toward Kate.

In the teaser, Anthony approaches Kate telling her he hasn't gotten her name. He also tells her that he is wondering if they will meet again. However, he seems to have met his match in feisty Kate.

The latter mocks Anthony telling him, "So you might discern if my wit is acceptable, my manners genteel?" Realizing that it's what he says earlier, Anthony accuses Kate of eavesdropping.

"It was hardly an effort. Seeing as you were proclaiming your many requirements for a wife loud enough for the entire party to hear," she answers him.

When Anthony asks Kate if he has issues with his requirements, she tells him she has issues with any man viewing women merely as chattels and breeding stock. She also questions him if the young women in London are so easy to win by a pleasing smile and nothing more.

"So you find my smile pleasing?" he asks her.

"I find your opinion of yourself entirely too high. Your character is deficient as your horsemanship. I shall bid you goodnight," Kate says and walks away, leaving Anthony stunned.

The second season will focus on Anthony's journey in finding his own love. He was rejected by opera singer Siena (Sabrina Bartlett) in the first season.

"We left him at the end of the first season at a bit of a crossroads, so I’m looking forward to jumping in and discovering how he fares on the marriage market," series creator Chris Van Dusen told Deadline of Anthony.

Anthony's younger sister Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) who married the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Rege-Jean Page), will return in Season 2. However, she will have minimal appearances compared to the first season.

Page won't return to reprise his role. An unnamed source told The Hollywood Reporter that he was offered $50,000 per episode for three to five episodes of "Bridgerton" Season 2, but he declined the offer as he was determined to focus on his film career.

"Bridgerton" Season 2 will be released on Jan. 21.
