  • Rege-Jean Page hinted at a cameo in "Bridgerton" season 2
  • Fans believe he will appear in the most iconic scene in the second book
  • Page revealed he had exited the WhatsApp group of the "Bridgerton" 2 cast

Rege-Jean Page might make a special appearance in “Bridgerton” season 2. In a recent interview, Page hinted that he might not be entirely absent when the hit Netflix series returns for its sophomore season.

Speaking with British GQ, Page was asked to comment on the social media ruckus earlier this year when it was announced that he would not be returning for “Bridgerton” season 2. Hinting at a possible cameo, the actor did not deny the possibility of appearing in the series yet another time.

“You know I couldn’t tell you!” he told the magazine. “Isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?” he added.

Considering his response, fans who have read the novel think that Page might return for the second book’s most iconic scene, in which Anthony Bridgerton begins to develop special feelings for Kate (Simone Ashley) after playing Pall Mall. In the book, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Page) join in on the game, and things take a few turns.

But despite the possibility that Page might make a cameo in “Bridgerton” season 2, it doesn’t mean he still considers himself part of the cast, he said. In fact, he revealed that he has already “respectfully exited” the WhatsApp group of the official cast. “I didn’t want to put them in an awkward situation where they had to kick me out,” he said.

Meanwhile, fans have so much to look forward to in the upcoming season of “Bridgerton.” Taking the place of Page as the next lead and head of the family is Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton in the series. If the new season is following the plot of the second book, then viewers will see him find the perfect wife while being distracted by her meddlesome sister, Kate.

The new season will also find Bailey’s character play Pall Mall, which is reportedly the only scene that author Julia Quinn requested the show creators to feature in the series. While original leads Simon and Daphne will take a backseat in season two, Quinn promised more romance when the series returns.

In an interview with E!, she teased that viewers will be happy with how things will turn out in season 2. “All I know is that, you know, having written the source material, I think we’re all going to be happy because they really set it up beautifully for all of us to really want Anthony to both win in life and get his comeuppance,” she told the outlet.
