On Tuesday, Bristol Palin showed off her baby bump on Instagram, giving her thousands of followers a glimpse at her growing belly. But that wasn’t the only exciting news Palin had for fans! The expectant mother also announced the sex of her second child in the caption with the adorable image.

“7.5 months with my baby girl,” the pregnant daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin revealed in the sweet picture that showed her caressing the baby bump.

The 24-year-old Alaskan native first confirmed she was pregnant in June, a month after she shockingly called off her wedding with her ex-fiancé Dakota Meyer, whom she had been engaged to since March. The wedding was canceled less than a week before it was to took place.

"I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant," she wrote in her Patheos blog post titled “Big News.” "Honestly, I've been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one. At the end of the day there’s nothing I can’t do with God by my side, and I know I am fully capable of handling anything that is put in front of me with dignity and grace. ”

Palin admitted she was trying to stay positive during the trying time but noted the announcement of her breakup would be a “huge disappointment” to her family and friends. She then asked for the media and public to respect her and her 6-year-old son Tripp’s privacy, adding she didn’t want “any lectures” or “sympathy.”

But that didn’t stop Palin from sharing updates on her pregnancy. In June, she shared a blog post on her pregnancy with fans, stating it was planned despite what some critics were saying.

“This pregnancy was actually planned," she wrote. "Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself.”

Palin also shared another post, updating viewers on her pregnancy by sharing an ultrasound photo of her little one.
