Scenes from Jaws and 47 Meters Down can send chills down the spine of anyone who's not particularly happy swimming alongside one of the deadliest predators on Earth, but one British diver who came within inches was, at one point, ecstatic and even filmed the entire hair-raising moment.

Sarah Fretwell was the brave soul who allowed herself to be locked in a cage underwater and, just like the movies, was immediately surrounded by great white sharks in the murky waters of the Neptune Islands in South Australia.

If her bravery wasn't enough to prompt nightmares, Express said that Fretwell managed to record one shark speeding towards floating bait over her head. Fortunately, the shark missed its target, but it suddenly lunged to her cage “in a moment of pure adrenaline.”

The source added that there were a total of three great white sharks who were swimming in the area where Fretwell's cage was plunged, although none of them were “anywhere near” the diver.

In one of the clip posted by Mirror, one shark was recorded by Fretwell's GoPro as it swam with its jaws wide open before it quickly turned around and disappeared in the water's shadows.

Another still image showed the two remaining sharks as the animals circle the cage. Obviously, the sharks were lured by the bait the divers were tossing into the water.

Although Fretwell was in a state of euphoria at that point, the video clip of the shark that came within inches off her face was the highlight of her vacation.

While not everybody can stomach what Fretwell had experienced during that once in a lifetime ordeal, the powerlifter was proud of the experience and shared it to the world.

Fretwell took to her Instagram page and posted the videos that she took during her vacation. She even joked that she'd “pop down” to South Australia “to say hello to Bruce and 2 of his mates.”

Bruce was the shark in the movie, Finding Nemo.

In addition to the clips, Fretwell accompanied her post with a caption that read, “Yes 3 sharks! The BEST experience ever!!!”

Calypso Star Charters, known for its shark cage diving tours, also posted Fretwell's video on their Facebook page. The clip already has more than 300 interactions and has been shared 30 times.

It's not everyday that you encounter a great white shark while cage diving in South Australia, let alone having three right in front of you.
