  • British singer Tom Grennan got injured in "unprovoke attack"
  • He was hospitalized with a ruptured ear, torn eardrum and fractured jaw
  • The attack happened shortly after his show in NYC

British singer Tom Grennan was hospitalized in the wee hours of Thursday after being attacked and robbed following a performance at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom the previous night.

His manager, John Dawkins of Various Artists Management, took to social media to confirm the news. “In the early hours of this morning after Tom’s New York show, he was the victim of an unprovoked attack and robbery outside a bar in Manhattan,” he said.

He also revealed that Grennan was being assessed by doctors after suffering multiple injuries, including a ruptured ear, torn eardrum and fractured jaw.

“Despite this, Tom is in good spirits but needs to temporarily recuperate whilst doctors assess his ability to continue with touring. Tom is desperate not to let anyone down, however, we have taken the precautionary decision to postpone the Washington show tomorrow to a later date, with details to follow,” he continued, before thanking Grennan’s fans in the U.S. for their support and understanding.

The statement did not reveal where the assault had taken place. Asked for information about the incident, an NYPD public information spokesperson told the NY Post that “there is no report with that name on file.”

Hours before the assault, the “Little Bit of Love” musician took the center stage at The Bowery Ballroom as part of his Spring/Summer 2022 Tour. He also shared an Instagram photo of him in front of a crosswalk light in New York City and another of him performing as his fans held up their phone flashlights.

“The big apple, you lot are magic,” he wrote in the caption.

Last month, Grennan talked about his new hit single, “Remind Me,” in an interview. Speaking about the track, he said, “I wanted to write a song that reminded me of a moment in my life where I realized I had given up something that was really making a difference in my life—in a good way. It’s about reconnecting. It’s that feeling when you’re at the top of the rollercoaster and you’re like: this is the best feeling.”

Grennan was nominated for several 2022 BRIT Awards, including “Song of the Year” for “Little Bit of Love.” He found fame as the guest vocalist on Chase & Status’s “All Goes Wrong” in 2016.
