Britney Spears and her fiancé Sam Asghari are expanding their family.

On Monday, the "Toxic" singer surprised fans when she announced on social media that she is pregnant. Shortly after her announcement, Asghari confirmed on Instagram that he and the 40-year-old are expecting their first child together.

The 28-year-old actor gushed about fatherhood in a message he posted alongside an image of a lion and lioness with their cub.

"Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect," Asghari wrote. "Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don't take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do."

Asghari's followers and friends congratulated the couple and left messages of support and love for him and Spears as they start a new chapter in their relationship. Some also welcomed him to the "fatherhood gang."

"Congrats and welcome to the fatherhood gang, brother. Proud of you," Dr. Kam Kamangar commented.

"Congrats to your beautiful family," Ariadna Jacob wrote.

"Congratulations, Sam. Make Britney the happiest mom alive," another follower added.

Earlier in the day, Spears — who already shares sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline — posted on Instagram a photo of a cup of coffee surrounded by flowers, which seemingly announced she might be pregnant with her third child.

"I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back … I thought 'Geez … what happened to my stomach???'" the singer wrote. "My husband said, 'No, you're food pregnant silly!!!' So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby."

Spears said that four days after taking a pregnancy test, she got a "little more food pregnant," before again implying that she is with child.

"It's growing!!!" she wrote. "If 2 are in there … I might just loose [sic] it."

The "Baby One More Time" singer added that she won't be going out in public as much so the paparazzi won't be able to get their "money shot" of her. Spears then shared that she suffered from perinatal depression in her former pregnancies, adding, "I have to say it is absolutely horrible."

Spears and Asghari began dating shortly after they met in 2016 on the set of her music video for her song, "Slumber Party."

The singer announced her engagement to the fitness trainer in September 2021. She frequently refers to him as her "husband" but has not officially said whether the couple is married yet, Variety noted.

Spears previously sparked pregnancy rumors when she shared on Instagram last month a video of a heavily pregnant woman in which the fetus can be seen moving inside their mother's stomach.

In her June 2021 testimony amid her contentious conservatorship battle, Spears said she wanted her IUD removed so she could try to get pregnant again.

"I would like to get married and have a baby," she told Los Angeles Superior Court judge Brenda Penny at the time. "But this so-called team won't let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don't want me to have children."

Spears' conservatorship was officially terminated in November 2021, after more than 13 years.
