The winners of the 2020 MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) have been revealed, and it was BTS, the South Korean boy group, that dominated the virtual ceremony by winning the most number of trophies across various categories.

The K-pop sact picked up four awards at the virtual event, including Best Song for their hit track “Dynamite,” Billboard first reported. The track, released in August 2020, broke many records during its opening week and became the fastest song in iTunes history to claim the numero uno position in over 100 countries.

With “Dynamite,” the band also became the first ever K-pop group to reach the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song had 33.9 million U.S. streams and sold 300,000 units in its first week. The track also pulled in almost 11.6 million radio airplay audience impressions.

Apart from Best Song, the group – composed of V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and J-Hope , also emerged victorious in categories like Best Group, Biggest Fans, and Best Virtual Live Event.

After winning the Best Group accolade, the group’s leader RM expressed gratitude toward the fans and assured them that they will keep on working hard in creating music that touches the hearts of people.

“We'll keep working hard to be a group that can touch the hearts of people and give them hope through music,” E! News quoted RM, as saying.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga edged out artists like The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Bieber to nab the Best Artist trophy.
