In what definitely is the most unappealing burger of the year, Burger King Brazil has created a sandwich in tribute to the terrible year of 2020.

The fast-food chain burger includes such unfitting toppings such as soggy noodles, sardines, caramel sauce, raisins, fish, and Jell-O – all topped on a burnt bun, to show the “terror” of the year that was filled with everything from the coronavirus to murder hornets.

The burger was shown on Burger King Brazil’s YouTube channel, where it challenged customers to try it, and the reactions were not good. Consumers were not interested out and couldn’t choke the burger down no matter how hard they tried.

The idea to develop the burger came when Burger King Brazil asked its customers for help in building a burger that it said was “retrospective” of 2020. The video showed the results of the 2020 sandwich campaign.

In a translated YouTube post, Burger King Brazil said, “This product WILL DEFINITELY not be marketed in Burger King restaurants. Unless the year 2020 doesn’t end in December, which would actually be worse than any sandwich.”

The company went on to say that the images of the sandwich “hardly resemble the terror that was this year.”

The year 2020 has resulted in the death of more than 1.78 million people globally because of COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University. As many as 81.5 million people contracted the coronavirus in 2020, the university said.

The coronavirus has sparked Burger King to come up with a series of marketing campaigns, including a Twitter post where it recommended that customers visit competitors such as McDonald’s. The promotion was an effort by Burger King U.K. to get customers eating at restaurants that were struggling during the pandemic, even if it meant it wasn’t a Burger King location.
