Video games studio Infinity Ward has already confirmed that its new entry in the long-running shooter game franchise will be officially called "Call of Duty: Warfare 2" and while game publisher Activision hasn't said anything yet about the upcoming title, leaks have surfaced online revealing the launch timeline of the highly anticipated game sequel, along with the release details of another upcoming game dubbed "Call of Duty: Warzone 2."

The full reveal trailer of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" could reportedly happen on June 2, according to an industry insider and credible COD tipster who goes by the name TheGhostOfHope. On Twitter, they noted that they were initially told the trailer could launch on May 30 but reasoned that since June 2 belongs to the same week, they believe it is "close enough."

The trailer's launch date was confirmed by industry insider Tom Henderson who said very recently that "several sources have suggested that this year’s highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by Infinity Ward is set to be revealed this June."

He noted the announcement trailer might be centered on the game's campaign, followed by an extended look at gameplay footage, which his sources apparently said is set to take place "at an event when E3 was meant to be." Henderson also noted that his sources confirmed that the game's multiplayer would likely come out in August.

However, he clarified that it isn't yet clear if the game's multiplayer launch would feature a "Call of Duty: Warzone" event just like what the team has been doing over the past couple of "Call of Duty" titles. Speaking of "Warzone," Henderson revealed that the game's sequel, presumably called "Call of Duty: Warzone 2" is also in development at Infinity Ward and would be revealed sometime in the later part of 2022.

He also noted that contrary to popular belief, the game would launch within weeks following the release of "Modern Warfare 2" and not months. While Henderson has a proven track record in leaking details ahead of the official announcement, the details he shared about upcoming the Infinity Ward games are not official and highly speculative at this stage.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" is believed to launch sometime in October or November 2022.
