While most people rejoice at the arrival of Wednesday, marking the middle of the work week and a step closer to the weekend, this particular date marks an exciting time for Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei.

On Wednesday, the two young women both had life-changing events to celebrate. Cabello shared big news with fans by announcing that she has been tapped as the latest star to be the face of the Guess Fall 2017 Campaign.

The “Bad Things” singer retweeted Billboard’s article revealing her latest career move. The Chief Creative Officer of Guess, Paul Marciano, revealed that Cabello reflects his idea of the brand’s aesthetic perfectly. “Camila’s confidence, strength and beauty reflect the qualities I look for in a Guess Girl,” he explained.

“Choosing Camila to be the face of Guess this fall celebrates that Guess Girls are multi-talented, dynamic and accomplished women,” Marciano added.

Meanwhile, Cabello gushed about her step into the world of fashion. “I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Guess on this incredible campaign,” the 20-year-old said in a press release. “I’ve grown up loving their aesthetic and not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d be lucky enough to be a part of it.”

Although she has not landed a fashion deal just yet, Kordei has plenty to look forward to. Not only is her group Fifth Harmony releasing a new single on Friday, but Kordei is celebrating a milestone birthday.

The “Work Home” singer turned 21 years old on Wednesday. The “Dancing With the Stars” finalist kicked off her special day by retweeting birthday wishes from fans.

“Happy Birthday my queen @NormaniKordei you deserve the world. I love you so much #HappyBirthdayNormani,” a fan wrote.

“QUEEN NORMANI IS OFFICIALLY 21’” another fan tweeted.

The singer, who came in at third place on the latest season of “DWTS” on ABC, will celebrate her special day just two days ahead of the release date of Fifth Harmony’s first single without Cabello, “Down.”

Fifth Harmony’s new single comes two weeks after Cabello released her first solo song “Crying in the Club” and teased her second single “I Have Questions.” The “Love Incredible” singer left the music group in December 2016, explaining that she was no longer happy and aspired to be a solo artist.

During a recent appearance on the U.K. show “This Morning,” Cabello told Eamonn Holmes and co-host Ruth Langsford why she had to leave Fifth Harmony. “I had a difficult past couple of years,” she explained.

“It was a low point. I needed to write my own songs to reconnect with myself,” she said.

The group, who has now had a hand in the writing process for their third studio album, will hit the stage on at the Good Morning America Concert Series on Friday where they may perform a live version of their new song.

Although there is still some time before their big performance in New York City, it’s likely that the group will take a break from rehearsal to give Kordei a birthday celebration that she won’t forget.
