Rapper Capital STEEZ is dead at the age of 19, an apparent suicide, MTV News reported Monday.

The teen hip-hop artist was part of the Pro Era crew that includes Joey BadA$$.

The group had been celebrating the release of the latest mixtape, "PEEP: aPROcalypse," but on Christmas Eve they are mourning their crew member Captain STEEZ, whose real name was Jamal Dewar.

Joey BadA$$ took to Twitter to confirm that STEEZ’s death appears to be self-inflicted.

The rapper tweeted for his friend, "RIP Capital Steez 7.7.93 - 12.24.2012."

He also posted, “This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal.”

It’s believed that the rapper took his own life as the last thing he wrote on Twitter was, “The end,” at 11:59 Sunday night and then died during the early hours of Monday morning.

The only news surrounding Steez’s death is coming from Twitter, and MTV News reported when they reached out to the NYPD, officers were not able to release any information regarding the rapper’s death at this time.

Numerous members from Steez's Pro Era crew have continued to write about his death on Twitter.

"SICK TO MY STOMACH...," wrote Joey BadA$$. "it just haven't been the same since my homies death... part of me still doesn't believe this."

Steez’s fans have also taking to the mini blog to mourn:

“RIP Capital Steez, he went too soon, respect to the whole Pro Era fam,” one tweeter wrote.

Another posted, “I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Capital STEEZ from Pro Era..just sickened..love those kids.what a horrible way to start Xmas. RIP.”

“RIP Capital Steez. Keep your heads up Joey and Shipes and Chuck Strangers. One love from the Most Dope to the Pro Era...” someone else posted.
