'Captain America 4': Sebastian Stan Hopes 'Anthony Mackie Doesn't Have Any Say' In Bucky’s Return

Sebastian Stan talked about returning to "Captain America 4" as Bucky and joked if it is up to his Marvel co-star Anthony Mackie (Captain America) to decide, then he might not appear in the upcoming Marvel movie.

"I don't know, I really don't know. I really hope Anthony Mackie doesn't have any say in it," Stan told Extra TV Wednesday. "Because if he has any say in it, I'm not in Captain America 4. I love him! I love him. He's the best."

The third installment of "Captain America" starring Chris Evans in the lead role was dropped in 2016. Later in "Avengers: Endgame" movie released in 2019, Captain America (played by Evans) can be seen giving away Captain America's title to Falcon's character (played by Mackie).

While "Captain America 4" will mark the first time for Mackie to play Captain America in a Marvel feature movie, the 43-year-old actor portrayed Captain America in the TV series, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," which was released in March last year.

The series also starred Stan in Bucky's character and fans are speculating that the actor will also return in "Captain America 4." No cast members, other than Mackie, have been announced yet as the flick is under pre-production.

On the work front, Stan was recently seen in the series, "Pam & Tommy," which was dropped on Feb. 2 and its finale was premiered Wednesday evening on the Hulu platform. Stan will be next seen in the movies like "Sharper" and "The Brutalist."

Mackie, on the other hand, will be seen in the movies like "We Have a Ghost," "Desert Warrior," "Twisted Metal," "Signal Hill," "Panopticon" and "Captain America 4."

Considering Marvel's upcoming movies, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is slated to release on May 6 while "Thor: Love and Thunder" will drop on July 8. Later this year, "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will also release in theaters on Nov. 11.

"The Marvels," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" are scheduled for release in 2023. Looking at the line-up, fans can expect "Captain America 4" to release in 2024 or 2025.
