Cardi B, like many others, have taken to Netflix to help pass the time spent indoors. More specifically, she watched the streaming service's current top show -- "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness."

The "Press" rapper sent out a series of tweets over the last week about the seven-episode true-crime documentary centered around Joe Exotic, an animal collector who is currently serving 22 years in prison for the attempted murder of his nemesis and animal sanctuary owner Carole Baskin. Little did she know one of those tweets served as inspiration.

"Bout to start a gofundme account for Joe," she wrote. "He shall be free."

Later Cardi admitted that she was just joking, tweeting, "Omg I was just playing. I do love him tho and he deff needed better representation."

Though the 26-year-old was joking, someone else was not. Shortly after Cardi proposed the account, someone used her name to follow through and create the GoFundMe page. It was quickly shut down though and all of the $100 it raised was refunded.

As it turned out, the fundraising website does not support this type of crowdfunding. A representative for the company explained to TMZ that its platform cannot be raised to fund the defense of inmates convicted of violent crimes.

Cardi B, like many citizens around the globe, have been stuck inside as COVID-19 spreads. And while the female rapper is no medical expert, she has been vocal about her thoughts on how President Donald Trump has been handling the pandemic.

In an over 4-minute-long video posted to Instagram, she called out celebrities and referred to the president as "45." She also called out Trump for telling people not to get tested for the virus if they feel that they don’t have any of the symptoms.
