KEY POINTS

  • Cedi Osman could be a sensible trade pawn if the Cavaliers want Jae Crowder from the Suns
  • The Heat are being mentioned as a potential landing spot for Crowder
  • Osman had some good games against Suns last NBA season

There remains no clarity on where Jae Crowder is headed.

All that can be told for now is that the 32-year-old has been very vocal on social media about moving out, something that the Phoenix Suns do not appear to mind.

One potential destination for Jae Crowder would be the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Should the Cavs be interested, one player that they may offer is Cedi Osman, a Turkish cager who has ironically played two of his best games against the Suns last NBA season.

As pointed out by radio host John Gambadoro, the 27-year-old forward shot 16 of 30 from the field and 11 of 19 from the three-point region for a total of 43 points.

Overall, Osman has been a silent-but-efficient contributor for the Cavaliers in the six seasons he has played for Cleveland.

Last season, the 31st overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft normed 10.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

Given what Crowder brings, it would make sense for the Suns to be interested in Osman, should a deal progress between both teams.

Proving that he is an efficient role player, Osman could be the player that can aid the Suns for another deep playoff run.

As for Crowder, there is a word that he could return to the Miami Heat. However, nothing has progressed thus far.

Other teams interested in Crowder other than the Heat and Cavs include the Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies.

The understanding is that NBA teams planning to make a deep run in the NBA postseason could get a huge boost with the Villa Rica, Georgia native in tow.

One person who shared his thoughts on Crowder is The Basketball League president David Magley in an interview with PTV Sports.

"He would be an interesting guy with the [Los Angeles] Lakers, believe it or not, because he plays so hard. He'd be interesting in Cleveland, 'cos they are really making a run and now he is a veteran and a dog that could really help them. He is the kind of Patrick Beverley-type that gets in your face to make you better," the 62-year-old executive stated.
