Celebrity Burglaries: 18 Famous Stars Whose Homes Were Burglarized

Stories of burglary are common in the news, but when celebrities are victimized, more attention is given to the cases. Even the rich and famous who can afford the most advanced home security features are not safe from home intrusions and robbery.

Here are 18 celebrities whose homes were burglarized.

Nas

Nas is one of the most recent celebrity victims of robbery. According to TMZ, two men broke into the rapper's Calabasas property while he was at an NYC party on Nov. 12 at 8:30 p.m. Police revealed that the pair, who gained entry through a rear door, left with at least two bags' worth of stuff.

Mariah Carey

Mariah's $5.65 million Atlanta mansion was burglarized in July 2022 while the singer was on a luxury vacation in Capri, Italy. The group of burglars got arrested a month later. In 2019, Mariah's Los Angeles mansion was also broken into by unknown men who took away $50,000 worth of goods.

Kendall Jenner

Model Kendall Jenner's home in Los Angeles got burglarized in March 2017. She lost about $200,000 worth of jewelry to the thieves. Authorities speculated an inside job since there was no sign of forced entry. This happened just months after her sister Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

Nicki Minaj

Thieves broke into Nicki Minaj's Los Angeles mansion in February 2017, LA Times reported. The crooks vandalized the house, destroyed furnishings, cut up the rapper's clothes and took home about $200,000 worth of jewelry and valuables. The rapper reportedly invested in a major security upgrade following the event.

Jason Derulo

Out of town when the heist happened, singer Jason Derulo lost $300,000 in cash and jewelry to burglars in his Los Angeles home in September 2017, according to CBS News. Police believed there had been an inside job. Other celebrity victims of robbery in the Los Angeles area include Alanis Morissette, Scott Disick, David Spade and Ronda Rousey.

Orlando Bloom

Actor Orlando Bloom's home was targeted by the notorious robbery group the Bling Ring while he was filming in New York. The thieves went away with $500,000 worth of artwork, luggage, watches and even his then-girlfriend (now ex-wife) Miranda Kerr's clothing. One of the stolen items was Orlando's ultra-rare 1950s Rolex Milgauss.

A$AP Rocky

Three armed men forcefully entered rapper A$AP Rocky's Los Angeles home in May 2017. The criminals took away a safe, which was eventually left on a sidewalk unopened after the group went away in their getaway vehicle. The thieves, however, got away with $1.5 million in jewelry and other valuables.

Simon Cowell

In 2015, music mogul Simon Cowell fell victim to a burglary when his London residence was ransacked by robbers while he, his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their son Eric were asleep, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The crooks took with them £1 million worth of jewelry in that early Friday morning heist.

Kelly Clarkson

In November 2017, singer Kelly Clarkson revealed that her house had been burglarized by a man. Weirdly enough, the culprit was in the kids' room, and the singer said he took "material things we didn't care about." She added, "We weren't in the house, which is a blessing."

Bella Thorne

Singer and actress Bella Thorne made it to the headlines after her home was ransacked by a group of robbers in 2018, just a few weeks after a failed intrusion. About $150,000 worth of jewelry and vintage clothing, stacked by the thieves in her designer luggage, was taken from her San Fernando Valley home.

Kim Kardashian

Held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room in October 2016, Kim Kardashian lost $10 million worth of jewelry, including her $4 million engagement ring from her then-husband Kanye West. Seventeen people were arrested in connection to the terrifying burglary, including the driver the Kardashian family hired in Paris.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton was a frequent target of the Bling Ring group in 2009, which inspired a series of celebrity home burglaries recently. The original group ransacked mansions from 2008 to 2009, including Paris' home, where they got $2 million worth of cash, clothes and jewelry for their five separate visits.

Lindsay Lohan

Another Bling Ring victim, Lindsay Lohan lost $130,000 of clothes and jewelry to the thieves in August 2009. No one was home when the break-in occurred, and Lindsay found things amiss after coming home. Earlier that year, a burglary attempt was reported on the same property.

Julianne Moore

Actress and author Julianne Moore became a victim of a burglary in October 2012. CBS News reported that her New York City residence was intruded on by thieves who stole $127,000 worth of jewelry. The robbers' loot included a $33,000 Cartier platinum diamond tennis bracelet and four Cartier watches worth a combined $77,800.

Rita Ora

Singer Rita Ora's three-story North London home was intruded on by a lone robber in 2015. Rita and her sister were woken up by the robbery where the criminal took £200,000 worth of possessions, including designer shoes and gadgets. The burglar was nabbed in 2016.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff's Beverly Hills residence was ransacked in 2017 while the celebrity was vacationing in Canada. Despite the presence of alarm systems in the mansion, the intruder was able to steal $100,000 worth of jewelry, according to reports. Hilary had been posting pictures from her vacation on Instagram before the robbery.

Rihanna

Rihanna's multimillion-dollar home in Hollywood Hills was broken into by intruders in 2018 in two separate incidents, despite having a sophisticated surveillance system. The LAPD said the property sustained minor damage while it was still unclear what the robbers took. One of the accused was arrested on October 2021 and has been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Dorit Kemsley

Celebrity fashion designer Dorit Kemsley's Encino, California residence was robbed while she was inside in October 2021. The robbers threatened Dorit and went away with $1 million worth of belongings. She reportedly pleaded for the intruders not to hurt her two children, Jagger, 7, and Phoenix, 5.
